Not even a little water resistant

I love wool. We use wool diaper covers and I was excited to finally purchase a wool mattress pad. This product has been a complete disappointment. I understand that it might not protect from large accidents. But this pad does not even repel water when I test it with a small amount.I contacted the company to find out if I needed to lanolize the product or if I was doing something wrong. I was simply told that the product was not waterproof; only water resistant and I should invest in a waterproof barrier.Total waste of money.

Ok but pricey and not water proof

I was looking for a natural alternative to traditional mattress protectors and it delivers on that front. My only issue is that it offered very little leak protection for my toddler who's diaper happened to leak the first night I tried the puddle pad. I am no wool expert and it took a little research to discover that I should have lanolized the product before using it. I eventually found out the process but it would have been nice for the company to explain the process on their website and product packaging (or just to mention that was a necessary step). I would also use thick linens over the puddle pad as jersey sheets are thin enough to feel the roughness of the wool underneath. Product also seems on the expensive side for such a small piece of wool. I would recommend this to someone who is searching for a natural alternative to conventional mattress pads (mainly because I don't know of another alternative).

Silly name, great product.

Our brand-new mattress needed a good quality mattress cover, and this is what I decided on, due to this mattress pad being made from natural, chemical-free wool. It's just as described, and exactly what I needed. Very happy with it, and I love that it's machine-washable, too, though haven't had to launder it yet. Would recommend.
