After reading all the details about buying a mattress, I ended up with colgate. It has everything I was looking for: It is 150 coils, has an edge rod to prolong the life of the edges and mattress, For water-resistance it has ticking reinforced with nylon, therefore no need to extra mattress pad for wet. It's not heavy, but of course not light as foam ones. Also it has ventilation holes, which give freshness to mattress. It's firm. The only thing,I put cotton mattress pad in order to keep sheets ordered because nylon ticking on mattress creates slippery surface. Overall we're really satisfied with this purchase.

I really like the Colgate Ultra II 150 Coil Innerspring Crib mattress for my child. It is a very will constructed mattress. I really like the fact that it is made in the U.S.A. The mattess was shipped very well. My child has no issues falling asleep every night on this mattress.

We bought this mattress for our first daughter. We didn't really think too much about it. We went to the baby furniture store and ordered the crib and nursery furniture that we liked. When we asked about mattresses we were directed to this one.It is awesome. It is very firm, but our daughter (now 19 months) loves it and sleep well. She sleeps for 1 2hours straight at night and takes a 2 hour nap during the day. She had a lot of issues with reflux and throwing up, so the waterproof covering and the fact the smell didn't stay was great. Clean up was easy - I can get her out of bed, clean the crib, and get her & the sheets changed in 7 mintues!I would not say he mattres is light and we might get the Colgate Classica 1 (lightweight foam) for baby number 2. But it's firm and the square corners are very important for a good fit and safety. We used it in the Creations Baby April crib 2010. We added a great mattress pad (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001KZH69C/ref=oh_o01_s00_i01_details) for a little more comfort after she was 18 months, but I don't think she really needed it. She was comfortable already. 5 stars easily, thank you Colgate!
