I got this cradle for my second child. I love all its features (mesh sides, self-rocking) and simplistic design. My son, now 2 weeks old, seems content in it. I also like the hard board under the mattress (unlike many other bassinets) which allows we to put a motion/breathing sensor under the mattress. The mattress is still just thick enough that you can't feel the sensor underneath.I disagree with the mom of 8 who gave this product 1 star. She was obviously rating the product sight unseen and never used it herself. This bassinet is only meant for babies up to 5-6 months, still a bit too young to be watching the parent from across the room through the mesh sides "wanting to be picked up", as she alludes to. How would that be different from a baby looking through the slats of a crib?I personally love this bassinet. I also purchased the canopy but found that to be an extra that was pretty but not necessary. Remember to buy 1 or 2 fitted mattress sheets since the bassinet itself does not come with any sheets in the box.

With a new grandson I wanted my own comfy cradle for him when he visits; in terms of its visual appeal it is quite attractive, somewhat on the minimal side and it suits the cradle's intended mobility and convenience. It is easy to assembly, with a detachable veil like canopy, and a removable mattress pad that can be wiped clean and re-covered with the organic cotton sheeting (see note below) for baby. It is a gentle movement, nothing jarring or even possible to jar. The baby's movements alone can cause some gentle movement, once it weighs enough. My grandson is just a week old so he looks lost in it, but that also tells me he will get probably 3 or 4 months if not more out of it.Initially I feared that the legs on the cradle would be insufficient support, not at all, and when set on a carpet it balances nicely, not tippy or awkward. On bare wood floors there are rubbery feet tips to keep it steady. The overall shape of oval cradle is pleasing, one can tuck a baby into a swaddled bundle and place in the center, no bars or impediments to cause baby any difficulties; it really is well thought out and made. With so many receptacles for babies (car seats, strollers, baby-totes, cribs, bouncy chairs, etc)the last thing baby needs is an uncomfortable cradle, this one is open but secure, gentle and conceived for baby's comfort. Can't ask for more than that.The pad itself does come out for cleaning and the mesh sides allow for air circulation, it is more durable than one would expect for a product with an eye on space saving. Babybjorn also makes an organic pad sheet with an elastic band to keep it in place that is easy to launder and apparently made without the chemicals etc that lead to allergen issues. The canopy is also gauzy and yet allows light to enter, if muted, which does well with a baby's eyes still learning to adjust to all the new very bright lights everywhere! It has a protective and cozy enclosure to it without preventing the parent from seeing baby, a very nice idea that is works beautifully.

Baby Bjorn Cradle Harmony is WONDERFUL!!! It's very clean, simplistic, and modern looking. A huge improvement over the old standard hard sided bassinet.It comes in a very flat box and so, when outgrown, would be easy to store as well. Assembly was super fast and completely uncomplicated. At a total weight of 13 pounds, it is very easy to move about your home.The sides are clear mesh, enabling you to see baby at all times. This also prevents baby from getting pushed up against the sides, as happened to my little ones many times in the older cradles. Not only can baby still breathe, through the mesh, but it also gives just a bit.There is a slight bouncy movement created by the convex metal legs. It's so gentle, and soft, corresponding to baby's movements.The addition of the canopy, (sold separately) takes this cradle to a whole 'nother place. Instantly it is a fairy tale bed for an infant Prince or Princess! I LOVE the canopy!!!It should be noted that this cradle is only rated for babies up to 18 pounds, or able to sit up, usually about 6 months.I think this cradle is destined to be a beautiful family heirloom, cherished for generations.
