We've only had the mattress for a little over a day, but so far I really like it. My daughter seems to really like it also. We bought this to replace the DaVinci Twilight Ultra Firm Deluxe Crib Mattress that we received as a gift with our crib, which turned out to be Ultra Flimsy rather than Ultra Firm. We had it a little over a year when it began to break down. My daughter had been having real issues falling asleep and staying asleep, which I believe was due to the saggy, old mattress. On the Naturepedic, she fell asleep right away and didn't wake in the middle of the night like she had been. We are using the toddler side since she is an older baby and we figured it might be hard for her to adjust to a super firm mattress after having such a soft mattress. The toddler side seems to have just the right amount of give to it.I only have one complaint, which is why I didn't give the mattress five stars. The mattress fits really snug in our DaVinci Emily crib. I could barely get one finger between the mattress and the slats on all sides. Because it is such a snug fit, it is really hard to change the sheets. I had to completely remove it from the crib to get the sheets on. Luckily it is very light weight, so it wasn't hard to remove or put back and I was able to do it without help. This might not be the case with other cribs, as another reviewer complained of the mattress being too short.Allergies were a concern for me since I have allergies that my daughter is showing signs of inheriting. I wanted a mattress that was both hypoallergenic and natural/organic. I researched mattresses for weeks and found that the Naturepedic brand was the best of both worlds; the most hypoallergenic (no latex or wool) and truly the most organic mattress. I was concerned about the polyethylene, but after more research have put those concerns to rest, as polyethylene doesn't off-gas and is food-safe. I also love that the Naturepedic mattresses are made in the US and not China, like so many other mattresses you find on the market. This really made the decision to spend so much on a mattress that we will probably only use for another year or so really easy... and hopefully we will be able to use it for our next baby. It is well worth the money to have my daughter sleep through the night again and to have the peace of mind knowing she is sleeping on a healthier mattress.

I ordered two of these lightweight Naturepedic mattresses (Model # MC44) for my twin nursery. Both mattresses were too short for my standard-sized cribs. They were off by about an inch and a half. The product dimensions state the length as 52 inches, but ours measured more like 50.5 inches. Both mattresses were the same length, so I don't think it was just a one-off random defect. If you purchase these, be sure to try the "two finger" test (make sure you can't fit two fingers between the mattress and any side of the crib). This is a safety issue, and I was not willing to use these mattresses in my cribs. I ended up purchasing other standard-sized crib mattresses from another manufacturer, which fit perfectly. To give them credit, Naturepedic had the good grace to take the mattresses back and give me a refund.

I did not have the same problem as the other reviewer, my mattress fit snugly in my standard size crib. I wonder if they had allowed Naturepedic to replace their mattress if this would be different. I have read that the mattresses are handmade and the occasional defect is the price you pay for overall good quality and attention to detail in the majority of mattresses.I love the Lightweight, I was able to lift the mattress immediately postpartum, which is amazing to say the least. The Ultra fabric seems worth it- and very durable. I also appreciate the fire retardant system being free of the typical nasty chemicals while remaining safe. It wipes clean easily, and I can tell it will last for a long time to come.In summary this mattress was well worth the price and we are very happy.
