product good, but options are limited

I ordered the Arm's Reach Euro-mini co-sleeper because my husband and I have a futon that measures only 18" off the floor. This is the only co-sleeper model of any brand that I could find for short beds. The co-sleeper itself appears to be a good quality product. It is easy to assemble, and if we ever get a bigger bed, it can adjust. My complaint is that options for this co-sleeper are limited. First, I cannot find an organic cotton sheet that fits the mini. Also, I really wanted to buy the Universal Co-Sleeper because it not only fits short beds, but it converts into a crib once your child is big enough to pull themselves up and over the sides of the co-sleeper. Unfortunately, when I called Arm's Reach, they told me the Universal model was discontinued and the Euro-mini is the only model available for short beds. The Euro-mini model, however, only has one matress position, so once your child can pull themselves up over the sides of the co-sleeper, there is no option to lower the mattress (thus making the sides higher) so you can continue using it. The frustrating part is that I cannot use this as a transition crib. It will only be good for 5-6 months or so, and then I have to get an entirely new product. Finally, the storage compartment underneath is nice, but when the co-sleeper is secured to the bed, there is no way to access anything you've put in the storage compartment (like some diapers, wipes, or burp pads) unless you get up and walk all the way around the co-sleeper to the back. So, the storage compartment provides limited options. In general, the product arrived in the condition as described and appears to be high quality, but as the owner of a short bed, products available for co-sleeping are limited, and I will only be able to use this product for a short time (and there are no other options).

the height is perfect for us:)

we have a japanese platform bed and they are very low. i ordered original cosleeper originally . didnt really consider the height issue but it was backordered. i came across it and there was no reviews on it and description was very insufficient. i love the height and the color. mesh siding . it came with a mattress and the sheet but it is exteremly weak but i searched online and they are actually designed like that to prevent sids but still arms reach need to improve their mattress quality. anyways if you have a low height bed like ours, this system looks like it work perfectly- still didnt have the baby:) ohh also i have limited space and size is just perfect but i am planning to have the baby eventtually transfer to a crib in a separate room, i would say the maximum the baby could sleep in it for 6 months. i like that it was superrr easy to put together.it has a little case it came with, i will be saving it for other babies or if we go on vacation, it could be perfect portable crib. packaging was sooo old and worn out but the product was undamaged.Update: BABY IS HERE:) my baby rejected to sleep in the cosleeper. It did not work for us but the design is great with people with low height beds. Only really bad part is the matress is so flimsy and cheap.

I purchased this mattress because of the statement that it has less petroleum products and is a quality mattress with square corners and antimicrobial properties. The mattress shipped very quickly from this seller. The mattress did fit the standard size crib perfectly with no gaps at the corners. The baby has not been sleeping well. The first time on this mattress achieved a 4 1/2 hour sleep. I had read another review for another mattress where someone said they preferred this mattress over a comparably priced mattress with mixed reviews. It's early in the use phase, but so far it has been a big improvement. I would purchase again.

AFFORDABLE GREAT CRIB.

It's so hard being a new parent, isn't it? How many hours have you already researched cribs? Losing sleep yet? Well, stop.This is a great crib for around $150.00. I am an ICU RN, my husband is a safety engineer. We spent a LOT of time researching cribs. Please note most negative reviews for this product are for the drop side crib. That is not this crib. If you are looking for a safe, cheap baby crib, you have found it. That's why this crib is a baby bargins winner. What I care about is safety, safety, SAFETY! Who loses sleep over a knick in the wood? I could careless. I'm not rich; I need something that will last through 2 babies without breaking the bank. I've had this crib for 7 months and it still looks great. My husband assembled it with no problems. I purchased the Sealy Soybean Foam-Core Crib Mattress to go with it and it fits perfect (best mattress ever if you're struggling with that decision too BTW). I am very happy with this purchase for the price. I will use it for baby #2 as well. Save your money for their college and buy this crib.

Very pleased with product

We love this crib :) It gets an A rating in Baby bargains, which is a book which tells you everything you need to know about purchasing baby items, as well as safety ratings. We ordered it online and it arrived very quickly. It was packaged very well, everything was there that we needed. The instructions were simple, and I was able to put it together by myself in less than an hour. I also purchased the matching changing table and was very happy with that also. I would recommend this crib to any of my friends and family looking for a safe and good looking product for a very reasonable price. :)

Great Lower-Priced Crib

I love this crib with one caveat: IT WON'T LET A STEEL-FRAMED CRIB MATTRESS SIT FLAT because it won't squeeze between the brackets that hold the springboard up.Why I chose this crib:(1) After reading reviews on a TON of cribs, the problems reported seemed fewer and less significant or even avoidable. (More reviews for this crib are under the espresso finish.)(2) I chose the natural finish because, like many cribs priced up to $500, it's made of pine, which is by its nature a softer wood, so likely to be dinged by a baby. I figure that with the natural finish, any dings or chips on the finish won't show as badly as on the espresso finish. Also, pine is a light wood that you can kind of mesh with other pine or birch pieces and it looks fine... Darker stains are harder to match.(3) I went to a store with a lot of cribs set up to see how the standard mattress fit in each one and to shake each one for sturdiness. This was the cheapest one where the mattress fit snugly and it seemed very sturdy. (Granted, even good cribs may seem less sturdy if not tightened properly when built.)(4) I found it for $125 new, which made it a lot cheaper than my other top choices for cribs.(5) This is convertible to a toddler bed. The downside is it doesn't have a half-rail, however it's super low to the ground at that stage, so I don't see that it will be a huge problem. I can always put pillows or blankets down for the first while. I would think that most kids will only fall out a few times before they learn not to roll off.(6) You can also convert it to a full-sized headboard (not the whole frame) which I liked because a lot of other cribs require you to spend around $100 to buy the matching side pieces to put along the bed. I thought this was much more economic, because if I do use it that way I can just buy a cheap bed frame and cover it with a dust ruffle. And really, kids don't need footboards on their beds, in my opinion. I don't even think they need headboards, but it's sure a nice option!When we received the crib, my husband and I put it together. The directions (which are on the spring assembly in the box) were great as long as you really pay attention to where the holes are on the picture to see which way the pieces are facing. I didn't do great at first, but it only added a few minutes to fix the piece I'd turned around. It was easy to assemble, and when you tighten the bolts properly, it is very sturdy.Only problem:I tried to put my nice steel-framed mattress in and saw that where the brackets made it so the mattress wouldn't fit flat. I warily called customer service and was actually very impressed with them--except the replacement springboards they sent, though different, still had the inherent problem of not allowing enough room for the mattress which was the size they said to buy because it won't "squish" in between the brackets. So... not having the packaging for the crib anymore, I ended up buying a firm mattress without a steel frame instead. I'm extremely disappointed with this easily avoidable flaw in the design, but otherwise really do like the crib.However, I do overall like this crib, and it's reasonably priced. I'm about to buy my second one for my second child.

Top of the Line, For Less...

This mattress is GREAT! I had originally bought a regular crib mattress from BabiesRus. It seemed really good for the price - firm, but not too uncomfortable for baby. Then, I started researching cribs and stumbled upon information about cribs and especially crib mattresses containing chemicals that leach formaldehyde. The mattresses are worse, though, since it is the law that they be flame retardant. Many chemicals are put into these mattresses, including roach killer, arsenic and antimony, and solid petroleum. Babies spend SO much of their time in them, in VERY close proximity. There is even research to suggest that a leading cause of SIDS is these chemicals that the babies ingest.So, while on the hunt for a healthier mattress, I saw many so called "organic" products. Naturepedic in particilar markets an "organic" mattress. But as with food and dairy industries, organic does not always mean so. Per the USDA, a product only has to contain 70% organic ingredients to use the phrase "organic" on its packaging. So, the mattress might be made with organic cotton, but there are still other components. And unless you have a doctor's prescription for no flame retartants, or have a mattress made with wool, a natural flame retardant (which this mattress has), you're still going to get the bad chemicals. So, for the same price as a Naturepedic with the bad chemicals, I got this mattress (found it on sale through another website, even though I'd have gladly paid Amazon's price!). It is made entirely of the following: A core of organic coir (coconut fibers), organic wool, and 2 unbleached cotton covers. The wool acts as a water barrier itself, so you don't have to use horrible vinyl mattress pads. (Vinyl is one of the most toxic plastics known). The wool is also anti dust mite. The mattress provides ventilation and maintains temperatures to stay warm or cool, depending on the needs.The mattress fits perfectly in my Pali Paula crib (even better than the first mattress I purchased, since that one was a little short on the sides). It is firm, yet springy. This will be GREAT for use as a toddler mattress, since it will still be comfortable for a younger child. All in all, I believe I found the BEST crib mattress out there. This, coming from an "organic OCD" mother, as my husband calls me, is a very high praise.[...].[...].[...].

My son LOVES his mattress!

I really wanted to create an organic sleeping experience for my son despite feeling pressure from family and friends that I was going a little overboard both on concern and on the budget. But I think that since babies spend so much time sleeping their first few years, it is so important to spare their immature systems the toxic chemicals. Learning that off-gassing could be a contributor to SIDS really made me take this issue seriously. I even attended a "create your own organic nursery" seminar and this was the mattress that got the highest marks.The most rewarding thing about this purchase though is how much my son LOVES his bed. He's 18 months now and while not all around the world's easiest child, he is SUCH a happy sleeper. He looks forward to "night night" and wakes up 12 hours later all smiles. I can just tell his crib is his little haven and it makes me so happy. I wish my bed made me that happy but I'm so glad his nighttime is formaldehyde and chemical free- for that I can rest much sounder.We're expecting baby number two soon and you can bet we'll be getting another coco mat.

Best baby mattress you can find

This is simply the best baby mattress you can find, unless you get a thicker one made the same way!We didn't get our coir baby mattresses for our twins from this vendor, but coir mattress prices have been coming down and I expect will become a big seller on Amazon.There is nothing better than coir, mainly for comfort. Coir is incredibly strong, especially when treated as was the coir that went into this mattress. If this mattress were thicker, I'd compare it to a college competition level wrestling mat only with a little crunch to it. This mattress is breathable.A lot of people don't know it but coir is a material that is naturally not a habitat for dust mites, it is naturally free of bacteria and fungal spores and it's not attractive to parasites. It has long been used in India and Sri Lanka for comfort and health, and has been produced for years in Mexico and several other countries.We're very pleased with our coir baby mattresses.

Daughter loves it!

Sleigh Toddler Bed - OakMy husband and I recently purchased this bed in oak for our 26 month old daughter. It was time for her to have a "Big Girl Bed" that wasn't quite full-sized, but still gave her the ability to get in and out on her own.We're thrilled with the quality of the bed. My husband was able to put it together in a reasonably short period of time (about an hour from unpacking to clean-up)--and came with all the tools necessary to put it together. Aligning all the slats can be a bit of a pain because you have to put all 10 together on one side, and then attempt to put the other side on without them falling out or slipping out of place; other than that it went together fine and all the pieces fit together without any problem.It fits a standard sized crib mattress (not included), and the bottom slats provide enough stability for the mattress so that even my eight year old has been able to throw her weight on it (although I did tell her not to do it again). So regular wear and tear from your toddler getting in and out shouldn't be an issue.I like that it is light enough so I can easily move it around, but it is sturdy and heavy enough that it doesn't budge when she gets in and out. There is also enough room between the mattress and floor that you can easily swoop your arm around to remove lost toys that inevitably make their home under there.I was worried about the sharp corner on the guard-rail, with good reason. My daughter has bumped her head on it a few times (I have no clue how), so we drape a large sherpa blanket over it and the mattress to add some padding--plus it gives a little extra protection for the sheet should she wet through her diaper. That seemed to do the trick. Other than that, there don't seem to be any other downsides to the bed.And the best part is our daughter fell in love with it, and enjoys going to bed in it (well, she isn't exactly running to go to bed; but she wasn't afraid of it at all, and actually enjoys taking ownership of it). I definately recommend this as a transitional bed for your toddler who isn't ready for a full-height bed. The quality is great and the price is reasonable.

When my first son was ready to move to a toddler bed, I purchased one from another company. After trying three times to get a bed that had not been destroyed during shipping due to poor packaging, I ordered this DaVinci toddler bed, which arrived well-packed and in excellent condition. I was so pleased with the sturdiness and quality of this bed right from the start, and I was able to put it together by myself in under 30 minutes (even with my 2-year-old "helping"). Now, 18 months later, the bed is still in excellent condition, even with two toddler boys playing on it regularly. My younger son is now leaving his crib, and I purchased a second identical bed for him. Again, this bed arrived without even a scratch. Both of my boys love their beds, as does their Mama. For quality, style, and durability, I give a hearty two thumbs up!

sweet and cute

We got this bed to transition our 2 year old out of his crib. It's easy to put together, well made, nice finish. It fit his crib mattress perfectly. It's only about 12" off of the floor, so even if he wriggled around so much that he fell out (past the side bars, not likely), he wouldn't fall very far (and it's never happened). It's great that it's so low, because he can get into bed by himself. The only caveat is that it has a 70 lb. weight limit, so don't kneel on it when you are tucking in, and our 5 year old boy can't play with his little brother on it. No great loss. Definitely recommend it.

We have been using this play yard for the last 4 months and it has some great positives but also some negatives.PROS1. We love the bassinet feature.2. Love the vibration option. It helped our son fall back asleep quickly after late night feedings and diaper changes.3. Diaper Changer is fantastic!4. The fabric is gender neutral. We have gotten several compliments on it and are glad we selected this particular pattern.CONS1. The bag only holds the playard and mattress. The diaper changer, and other items don't fit. It makes for a lot to travel with. Since our son is still young it would be wonderful if it was easier to take everything.2. We have never used the canopy. I wish instead of the canopy it had a mobile. Our son would have enjoyed that more.Overall this is a wonderful item and will get several years of use.

Love the look not as happy with construction

Pros: We love the look of this bassinet. It is quite large but blends in nicely in our living room. The extra features are great. The diaper holder and changing table are an excellent idea and we use it downstairs in our home instead of dragging the baby up and down to do a change. The vibration and music are a nice effect as well.Cons: The vibration unit seems to have trouble working unless you lift up the mattress and jiggle it. This is VERY frustrating when you are trying to get a sleepy baby down. It worked just fine to begin with so I'm not sure if all units have this problem or not.I wish the "cup holders" were a little bigger, you can throw some small essentials in them but not blankets or anything large. Also the wipes case is great for a FEW wipes. We leave it stocked with some in case but mostly just use a large container placed in the bassinet for everyday use. Lastly, I wish it had a moving mobile the way some Graco bassinets have, its not essential but would be a bonus with the other features.Overall the look and use of it as a secondary system is wonderful.

For what you pay, it's pretty much the best

It took a while to find a deal like this, a variety of things in one package, and in a style we could stand. We found this in another store at first and fell in love with it, then discovered apparently everyone else did as well because we couldn't find it -anywhere-. Thankfully we found it here and for a good price before the baby arrived.It's honestly great and not too complicated... after you assemble it the first time that is. Once it's put together fully you can fold it up and take it apart with ease, after once or twice lol.It's sturdy and holds our daughter well. She doesn't need the playpen part yet so I can't vouch for it yet, but the bassinet and changer are fantastic. The diaper changing has been made loads easier, though we did discover a need to be careful about putting things underneath her as sometimes when we change her she'll decides to pee just as we take off her old diaper. Thus, the urine can get into the cracks and slide down the poles beneath it.Don't expect much from the bears on top - not that I did since they looked pretty stationary. They're cute but unless you want to constantly push them back and forth for you baby, it'll be pretty static.I highly recommend this for anyone since, while it's not the -best- thing out there, it does what it was made for really well.Edit: 4/30/12After having it for over a year now, I figured I'd update this review. My daughter is now a year and a half and is too big to use it as anything other than a playpen, but I'll review what happened over the the year.First off, don't expect to use this (other than as a playpen) for more than one child. The changer part tends to accumulate things in areas you wouldn't expect (and we are thorough cleaners) and it isn't meant to hold much weight. We threw it out because it seemed too flimsy to be safe after some months. It was great for the first few months, but it didn't last too long.The bassinet was great and still is. Lasted a long time and could probably still be used for our next one.The Playard/playpen (whatever you prefer to call it) is great. However, don't expect to move it around much. It's fairly, usually, easy to collapse and move, but it can be one of the biggest pains to set back up. Some parts just will not snap back together, no matter how hard to struggle with it (and I'm a pretty strong guy). You'll play with it until it finally randomly snaps or you do. There's been a few times where it just mysteriously sets ups quickly, but at least 75% of the time it's a fight.I'd get it again, but I did take off a star for how hard it is to set up.
